is it possible to dry liver,not dehydrate, but make the liver that stores have for dog treats?
The liver treats that you buy in the stores are normally ‘freeze dried’ and NO they do not contain preservatives if you by the natural ones.
Freeze drying the liver extends the shelf life and makes the product nice and hard. “Freeze drying works by freezing the material and then reducing the surrounding pressure and adding enough heat to allow the frozen water in the material to sublime directly from the solid phase to gas.”
I’m not sure if there are home methods for freezing drying that are effective but you could try it.
